Transcend have only been going a relatively short period of time, since 1988. In that time they have proved to be a manufacturer of high quality digital memory products and are up there with Sandisk and Kingston. Transcend use only the highest quality components, put this together with rigorous testing you are sure not to be let down by one of their Memory Cards.
The Transcend SD Memory Card range is a superb reflection on how far they have come. Whether you need an every day Memory card or a high speed card you will not be disappointed.
The range starts with the Transcend Class 2 SDHC card -

These Transcend Class 2 SDHC cards are available in capacities ranging from 4GB-32GB. They are great for everyday use and have a minimum read/write speed of 2MB/s.
Transcend then speed things up with the Transcend Class 6 SDHC card -

These Transcend Class 6 SDHC cards are available in capacities ranging from 4GB-32GB. You will notice that these have a higher class speed rating. This means that the minimum sustained read/write speed is 6MB/s. A must for all keen photographers.
At the top end we have the Transcend Class 10 SDHC card -

Now then these Transcend Class 10 cards are currently available in capacities ranging from 4GB-16GB. The class reading states that the minimum read/write speed for these is 10MB/s! This is the fastest on the market today.
The need for a higher class rated card comes from the increase in the quality of photographic equipment available. The higher the resolution of a shot, the more data is contained within the file. If you used a standard unrated SD/SDHC card for say a 12 mega pixel camera, you may notice a lag between shots. This would be removed if you changed to a higher class rated SD/SDHC memory card. It is equally important to consider this when taking video clips.
